 Like many pioneers in industry, Hoppe Tool’s founder A.J. “HOPPE” Hagopian began his business as “A.J. Hoppe Tool Works” in the garage behind his family home in Springfield, MA in 1941. The name Hoppe was derived from a childhood nickname. Hoppe’s business was financed initially with proceeds from the sale of his first two inventions to the L.S. Starrett Co., of Athol, MA.
Though the company started operations as a defense contractor supplying precision mechanical components, gages and tooling directly for Government entities such as; Springfield Armory, Watervliet Arsenal etc. the company has always maintained a diverse customer base including companies in the sporting goods, personal hygiene and envelope manufacturing business.
Today the business’ name is simply HOPPE TOOL, INC. now owned and operated by the founder’s two Grandson(s) Eric and Douglas Hagopian who took the business over from their Father Gary in 1997. Hoppe Tool proudly operates from a World-Class one story climate controlled facility located in the Massachusetts Industrial Park in Chicopee, MA. The company employs over 80 highly skilled machinists, engineers and professionals. Hoppe Tool runs on a 24 hour 7 Day a week basis using lights out production capability offered through its perpetual capital reinvestment.
The customer base consists of highly respected companies such as; Raytheon, DRS Technologies, Gillette, Honeywell and Goodrich to name a few. NOW |
